This month has been difficult; I’ve been missing my boyfriend a lot, I’ve moved to a new residence in London to start the academic year, met new people, and student finances are more of a challenge this year. Last month I decided to start a ’10 things that made me happy’ series because I’m trying to have a more positive outlook on life, so here’s what made me happy in September…

  1. Starting my YouTube channel.

I’ve wanted to do this for literally a few years, but I’ve never been confident enough. OKAY I only made one intro video, but I’ve been busy with uni and my Macbook stopped working for a while so I haven’t really been able to make more yet. Hopefully I’ll make lots during October!

  2. Beginning my second year of university.

Getting more of a choice in my modules is something I’ve been looking forward to, I’ll definitely enjoy my course more this year! Plus my timetable is SO much better.

  3. Moving to a new part of London to explore.

My bedroom is so much nicer than last year! Living not far from Camden is great too, because that’s my favourite place in London.

  4. Reaching 500 Bloglovin’ followers!

I’m so grateful to everyone who reads my blog, and I’m definitely motivated to make my posts better. I also reached 675 twitter followers, which is awesome!

  5. Eating more healthily & cutting down on sugar in my diet.

This hasn’t been easy because there’s hidden sugar in so many things (watch Jamie Oliver’s Sugar Rush documentary!), and I have to buy cheap food on my student budget, but I’m getting there.

  6. Getting fitter.

Living literally next door to a gym this year and walking past it when I walk to the train station is definitely motivation to get fitter! I can’t afford to join the gym, but I’ve been doing yoga and pilates in my room, and I want to start running around the nature reserve nearby.

  7. Attending a blogger event!

I was so nervous about this, especially as I didn’t know anyone else going, but I went to the LFW Bloggers Hangout Beauty Bar, and it was great fun. I’ll definitely be keen for more blogging events. I also went to the Pandora AW15 style clinic, and I have a few more events coming up in October!

  8. Reading a lot of books.

This month I’ve read several books, including Demon Road by Derek Shandy, which I really enjoyed (full review coming soon). Reading is so relaxing, and a great way to pass time on the tube, when I’m waiting for something or if I’m feeling bored or sad. I love getting lost in a good book, and I definitely want to give myself more time to read this year.

  9. Dyeing my hair pink!

…Okay so I only did this last night, but that still counts as September! My purple dip-dye had faded into a weird ginger / green combination, so I decided it was time to fix it. I went for pink this time and I’m so glad I did!

  10. Catching up with my friends.

It’s been so lovely to catch up with all of my university friends over freshers month. I’ve had a lot of fun nights out and nights in with them, which has made me feel a lot better about my boyfriend being away. I’ve also made a few new friends while living here, which is great!

Thanks for reading,
