I have pink hair!! What better month to have pink hair than during Breast Cancer Awareness month?! I’ll be honest, I didn’t plan it that way, I ran out of purple dye and decided to try pink, just in time for October.
What is Pink October?
Every 45 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer, it’s the 2nd deadliest cause of death for women around the world. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and it is the most common cancer in women. The idea behind ‘Pink October’ is to spread awareness about breast cancer, and raise funds for research. It’s definitely a campaign that’s important to me, and should be important to all women (and men)!
How do I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved with Pink October, such as donating to Cancer Research, taking part in fundraising events, and spreading awareness by wearing pink. My favourite campaign this year is definitely #GlamuletPinkOctober: Glamulet have designed a limited edition range of beautiful pink charms for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and best of all, 50% of the sales will be donated to charities for breast cancer.
Glamulet have a huge array of pretty pink charms (including an adorable pink scooter that I really want to get), but also a range of specially-designed pink ribbon limited designs that are gorgeous and perfect for supporting the cause. As you can see, they aren’t really expensive, and remember that half of the proceeds are going to breast cancer charities!
You can also buy pre-made charm bracelets if you prefer, or if you don’t already have a charm bracelet. I love the pink leather ones, they’re so cute and so affordable! Not only do you get a really cute charm bracelet that you can wear all year round and add charms to, but you’re also supporting an amazing cause. A win-win in my opinion!
I really hope that lots of people get involved with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by spreading the word and supporting cancer research and charities through campaigns like #GlamuletPinkOctober.
