3 Activities You May Not Have Considered Before

(this is a guest post)

Life often seems like a constant battle against time. There is always something that needs to be done, responsibilities that need to be met, and places to go. However, in the midst of life and all of its chaos you should find a few moments a day which are dedicated to doing things that you enjoy. If you’re someone who doesn’t engage in activities that often, it’s something you should consider starting as a way of spending quality time with yourself. If you already have a number of activities that keep you busy, then you might be thinking of trying some new ones.  Irrespective of which category you fall into, there are many different activities available for you to explore. To help you get started, you’re going to find three below.

Golf

An activity that probably doesn’t come to the forefront of your mind when you’re looking for new things to do is golfing. However, it is certainly one that you should consider doing as it can be a lot of fun and also has several health benefits. Some of them include balance and muscle endurance in older people, helping those who suffer from chronic diseases, as well as improved body cholesterol and posture. In addition to this, golf can be a lot of fun, particularly if you book sessions through HulaHub as you’re likely to meet other people who are new to the sport that you can share your new experience with and give you hints and tips.

Ice Hockey

Another activity that may not be first on your list of new activities to try is Ice Hockey.
However when played outside with like-minded adults, it has many fans and is a lot of fun to play. For one, a large part of learning how to play hockey is getting good at the skating part, you may experience several falls before getting the hang of it but persevere!  In terms of health benefits, ice hockey is a great cardiovascular exercise, burning around 500 calories an hour, meaning that your heart, which is one of the most important organs in your body, is getting a serious workout. If you decide that you want to try getting into ice hockey, you will find hockey clubs and ice rinks near you. Also, it may be interesting to know that you’re likely to improve your general pace and agility, and usually there are ice skating sessions available afterwards as well.

Basketball

This one is more common in the UK, but basketball is also an activity that you may well have not considered before. If you enjoy friendly competition, running, and playing in teams you will find it fun! The good thing about basketball is that it can be played with friends or family and varying numbers of participants, making it an activity anyone can partake in. As with the others, it can also help promote cardiovascular health which is key if you want a more youthful heart that will stand the test of time.

The thought of trying something new can be scary and nerve-wracking for some while for others it may be a lot more exciting. However, getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new could end up being a defining moment for you. After trying some of the activities mentioned above, it may be a sentiment that you share too!
