The Theatre Cafe!

After a long day of wandering around the Tower of London, a Christmas Market at London Bridge, Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Chinatown with my Grandad, we were desperate to stop off at a cafe for a drink. We came across the Theatre Cafe on Shaftesbury Avenue, a place I’d wanted to check out for a while, and oh boy it’s wonderful. The whole cafe is musical theatre themed, which is pretty much my idea of heaven. I love the musical posters on the walls, the drinks are musical themed, they play songs from shows… it’s perfection. You can also buy theatre…

Love You Better | Book Review

I was sent a copy of Love You Better by Natalie K Martin a while back to review, but I’ve been so busy with uni work that I only recently finished reading it. I grabbed it every time I had the opportunity, mostly on the tube, and while waiting for my food to cook, but it did take me a while to get through. “After a soul-destroying breakup with her ex, Smith, Effie Abbott has met the man of her dreams. She’s had the whirlwind romance and the fairy-tale wedding to the charming and suave Oliver Barton-Cole, and life seems firmly back…

The Chi Chi London £1 Dress

I’m always lusting over Chi Chi London’s gorgeous dresses, and entering their Twitter competitions in an attempt to win one, but alas, I’ve not been able to get my hands on one. Until now. A few weeks ago, Chi Chi did a crazy sale where they sold 5 of their beautiful dresses for only £1. Yes, one single British pound. Each dress was released on consecutive days, everyone went crazy on Twitter with the #OnePoundDress hashtag and the website crashed frequently… but to my surprise I managed to get my hands on two of the dresses, one being my favourite…

House of the Rising Sun

House of the Rising Sun I finally did it. I just uploaded a singing video to YouTube. A combination of insecurity and being busy with uni work are my excuses for not doing it sooner. I’ll be uploading more videos hopefully quite regularly, because why the hell not? Check out my cover of House of the Rising Sun by Animals if you want, apologies for the car beeping in the background somewhere near the beginning… London is never quiet. Make sure to watch in HD! I’m going to try and upload covers whenever I have the chance (university life is busy…

I Am Malala | Book Review

Malala Yousafzai, known as the girl who ‘stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban’ at the age of 15 in 2012, has written an autobiography entitled I Am Malala, about her life experiences so far. Her story is both heartbreaking and empowering, and it really exemplifies the importance of educating girls – her father was the headmaster of a successful school, yet her mother is illiterate. Malala is a Pashtun girl from Pakistan, and she explains that most girls aren’t very educated, because they basically spend their young years waiting until they become a wife and a mother, and subservient to…

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland!

Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland opened a few days ago, and I was keen to see it, so when my friend was feeling a bit down last night, we went and spent a few hours wandering around and taking a ridiculous amount of photos. It definitely cheered us up, it was so pretty and totally festive!

The Cereal Killer Cafe

On Monday, my friend and I decided to go and explore Shoreditch a bit because we both had a free afternoon. I go to Camden a lot, but hadn’t really been to Brick Lane, or Shoreditch in general other than clubbing. I’d read that the biggest vintage store in Europe, Blitz London, is there so of course we had to go and check it out. After spending way too much money on vintage clothes and vinyl, we stopped at the famous Cereal Killer Cafe for a break.
