This month has been very busy! I’ve moved to a new place in London to start my second year of university and met some lovely new people. Last month I decided to start a ’10 things that made me happy’ series because I’m trying to have a more positive outlook on life, so here’s what made me happy in September…

  1. Starting my YouTube channel.

I’ve wanted to do this for literally a few years, but I’ve never been confident enough. OKAY I only made one intro video, but I’ve been busy with uni and my Macbook stopped working for a while, so I haven’t really been able to make more yet. Hopefully I’ll make lots during October!

  2. Starting my second year of university.

Getting more of a choice in my modules is something I’ve been looking forward to, I’ll definitely enjoy my course more this year! Plus my timetable is SO much better. Goodbye 9am lectures!

  3. Moving to a new part of London to explore.

My bedroom is so much nicer than last year! Living not far from Camden is great too, because that’s my favourite place in London.

  4. Reaching 500 Bloglovin’ followers!

I’m so grateful to everyone who reads my blog, and I’m definitely motivated to make my posts better. I also reached 675 twitter followers, which is awesome!

  5. Eating more healthily & cutting down on sugar in my diet.

This hasn’t been easy because there’s hidden sugar in so many things (watch Jamie Oliver’s Sugar Rush documentary!), and I have to buy cheap food on my student budget, but I’m getting there.

  6. Getting fitter.

Living literally next door to a gym this year and walking past it when I walk to the train station is definitely motivation to get fitter! I can’t afford to join the gym right now, but I’ve been doing yoga and pilates in my room, and started running around the nearby nature reserve.

  7. Attending a blogger event!

I was so nervous about this, especially as I didn’t know anyone else going, but I went to the LFW Bloggers Hangout Beauty Bar, and it was great fun. I’ll definitely be keen for more blogging events. I also went to the Pandora AW15 style clinic, and I have a few more events coming up in October!

  8. Reading a lot of books.

This month I’ve read several books, including Demon Road by Derek Shandy, which I really enjoyed (full review coming soon). Reading is so relaxing, and a great way to pass time on the tube, when I’m waiting for something or if I’m feeling bored or sad. I love getting lost in a good book, and I definitely want to give myself more time to read this year.

  9. Dyeing my hair pink!

…Okay so I only did this last night, but that still counts as September! My purple dip-dye had faded into a weird orange and green combination, so I decided it was time to fix it. I went for pink this time and I’m so glad I did!

  10. Catching up with my friends.

It’s been so lovely to catch up with all of my university friends over freshers month. I’ve had a lot of fun nights out and nights in with them, complete with wine, pizza and Netflix. I’ve also made a few new friends while living here, which is great!

All the best,
Emily, x
