Blog Inc Book Review

Recently I’ve picked up a few books about social media and blogging, which have been really interesting so far. I reviewed Pinterest Power not long ago, and I’ve also been reading a book about Instagram. I’ve learned quite a lot since reading these books, they’re incredibly helpful.

When browsing for blogging books, I remembered Blog Inc., “Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community” by Joy Deangdeelert Cho, which had been recommended by other bloggers. I got a second-hand copy to read from Amazon, which was in great condition and saved me a few pennies.

Blog Inc Book Review

Blog Inc is a book that talks about blogging, blogging tips, and social media. It provides helpful advice to bloggers on how they can use their blog as a business and get more followers. Blogging has become such an important part of many people’s lives these days, with lots of people starting blogs to express themselves, get creative, or make money online – but not everyone knows where to start!

Blog Inc Book Review

Although this book was written in 2012, a lot of the content is still relevant. Blogging really hasn’t changed that much: WordPress and Blogger are still the main platforms, and SEO is still very important. Not to mention the fundamentals of writing and design!

Perhaps this wasn’t the best book for me because I already know a lot about blogging. However, I did find some useful tips in there, particularly in the chapters towards the end regarding monetisation, copyright laws and tax.

This book was written by an American blogger, so not everything is applicable to UK bloggers. Make sure to look up the laws in your country.

Who Should Read Blog Inc?

I’d recommend Blog Inc. to any new blogger. It gives a good introduction to all of the aspects of blogging and how to monetise, pick your niche etc. Blog Inc was written by someone who successful turned their blog into a full-time career, but if you’re familiar with the basics of blogging, this book probably isn’t for you.

It’s a good read for small businesses or Etsy sellers who want to use blogging and social media to market their products and grow an audience. There are several case study interviews within the book, including both bloggers and brands, which I found really interesting.

Do you have any blogging book recommendations?

I know many bloggers stick to Pinterest for finding blogging tips, but I find books much more useful for covering topics in-depth.

  1. My daughter is a keen writer and is seriously considering starting a blog. It would be a really useful read for her.

  2. I have recently become very interested in blogging and think this book would be a good starting platform to read xx

  3. I absolutely love learning more about blogging. With still being new to blogging, I have so much to learn, so I think this book would be extremely helpful, not only for newbies, but experienced bloggers too!

  4. I’ve never seen a book for blogging before and I think that reading this would certainly help me get a step up in the blogging world. I just started my blog about a month and a half ago and even though I’m learning a lot from other bloggers, I’d love to learn more from someone who has a little more expertise. Reading is also a huge passion of mine so reading about another subject I love would be amazing. 🙂

  5. I love reading (my wallet does not love that hobby, however) and right now I’m in college, in a town I’m still not familiar with. So I’m a little afraid to try to find the public library, but I really miss reading new books all the time. Plus, I doubt the libraries around here have books on blogging, and, as a new blogger, I can never get enouh information on it! ♥

Thanks so much for doing this giveaway. It’s led me to find your blog, which is a huuuge plus!
