The other day I was gifted Paige Toon’s latest book to review, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’*.
This is the second book in a series, but I still enjoyed it without reading the first one.
These books are about a girl called Jessie Jefferson, and her whirlwind life once she finds out her Dad is a famous rockstar.
After Jessie has a holiday with her famous Dad in LA, she has to return to the UK for her normal school life. She ends up trying to keep her identity a secret and is very confused about what she wants.
I found Jessie quite a relatable character, especially for teenage girls.
Paige covers a lot of teen issues like family life, boyfriends, drinking, and friendships: this is a good read for girls my age or younger!
There’s a reason Paige Toon is a Sunday Times bestselling author! I loved her writing style and I read the whole book within 2 days.
I’ll keep an eye out for her other YA fiction novels, and I definitely recommend this series to teenage girls.
It would be better to read ‘The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson’ first, but I enjoyed ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ as a standalone book.
You can get ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ on Amazon.
