Going Dark with Under Armour

Going Dark with Under Armour
AD – Gifted Products. I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog and in my vlogs that I joined the gym in November and have been going somewhat regularly since then. After a little break when I went home to Devon for a week, it’s been a little difficult to get back into the swing of going to the gym every other day. Under Armour have motivated me by inviting me to join their #GoneDark challenge!

I joined several athletes by ‘going dark’ on social media for 3 days, and spending that time focusing on my physical health and putting ‘sweat before social’. That digital detox was great, and made me realise how much time I spent on Twitter and Instagram, when I could be spending time at the gym, going for walks outside or doing yoga. Staying off Facebook wasn’t difficult for me at all, but I’m always scrolling through Instagram.

Another way to motivate myself to get back into exercising more often was to get some great new gymwear.

I bought myself some cute little pink weights from Sweaty Betty to use in my room (which were only £5!), and a black and pink sports bra from Shock Absorber (£17.99), which is a little too small for me unfortunately.

Under Armour were kind enough to send me a new gym outfit and trainers to get myself going with the #GoneDark campaign. I was excited because I usually go to the gym wearing an old band t-shirt!

 Under Armour t-shirt

I chose the Under Armour HeatGear Short-Sleeved t-shirt in a cute sky blue colour, and the HeatGear Black Capris (£32), both of which fit me perfectly.

Both of these products have a Moisture Transport System, which keeps you dry and feels light. The capris are ideal for me, because I can wear them on the treadmill at the gym, but also when I’m doing yoga at home.

 Under Armour trainers

The trainers I chose are the Speedform Gemini 2 Running Shoes (£110). I love the bright coloured details, they’re perfect for running and very comfortable. I definitely feel like I fit in at the gym a bit more now I have all the gear, and I cannot explain how amazing my new Under Armour trainers are compared to my old ones!

Make sure you check out Under Armour if you’re looking for new gym outfits or trainers, and have a browse of #RuleYourself and #IWILL on Instagram for motivation.

Thanks for reading,
Emily

  1. I have been thinking lately about going back to the gym and also needing some proper trainers to help with my running which I have not done in forever. I am loving your workout gear

  3. Loving that gym wear! I’m currently training for an epic 250 mile fundraising cycle for the RNLI. I treated myself to new gym wear recently, but nothing as nice as this. And, I need heavier weights!

  4. I really should do a digital detox but I work so much by going online. I tend to do similar things when I go on weekend breaks/ holidays where I don’t use social media. Love the trainers! x

  5. loving this idea and really love the sweat before social. Kinda makes me think about that meme of if you don’t instagram or fb your workout it didn’t happen lol. gym kit looks fab too X

  6. I love the sound of ‘going dark’ for a while, I waste so much time online! Great gym clothes too, makes all the difference doesn’t it.

  7. Buying new gym wear always motivates me. I’ve become somewhat of a gym junkie over the past year and spent waaay too much on gym clothes >.< Looks like you got some fab Under Armour pieces 🙂

  8. Im so bad, ive never been to a gym. Now is probably the first time ive felt i needed to and i struggle to with having my little girl. If i do decide to go to the gym i will have to look out for this clothing

  9. I have to admit, I’m really not very good when it comes to going to the gym. I vowed that I would do more exercise this year though, but sometimes finding the motivation is tough. I really like the idea of a digital detox – I also waste way too much time scrolling through Twitter and Instagram when I could be putting that time to better use and getting fit!
I really love your new gym outfit – I always seem to wear my scruffiest clothes, which doesn’t exactly help make me feel motivated and confident! I love the bright colours, they look much nicer than the usual gym wear that you see in the shops!
    I hope that you’re having a lovely weekend! 🙂
