Busy B Academic Diary.

As it’s nearly September I’ll be starting my second year of university soon. That’s a great excuse to get some cute new stationery! Having a planner is so useful for keeping up with my university work, as well as remembering tutor meetings, society events, and other uni-related stuff.

I had a look in Paperchase and couldn’t find anything I liked, and then someone recommended Busy B to me on Twitter. They sell lots of pretty planners, calendars, and other stationery.

I wanted everything because I’m an absolute sucker for cute stationery, but this time I restrained myself! I picked up their Yearly Academic Diary, so I’m sharing a review, and some tips on why you should use an academic diary.

Busy B Academic Diary Features

This academic diary is the perfect size to fit in my bag and take to lectures. Here are a few things I love about it:

  • The cute blue and orange bunting design on the cover.
  • There’s a pen holder on the side.
  • A ribbon to mark the right page. An essential for scatterbrains like me!
  • Extra pages, including a timetable, yearly planner spread etc.
  • Pockets!

A Dual Schedule Planner: Perfect for Students

The best part of this academic diary is that features a ‘dual schedule’. This means you can keep your studying schedule separate from your personal life. Super useful, right?

I’m going to have my university things on one side of the diary, and blogging stuff on the other. This should hopefully keep me organised in all aspects of my life, not just with studying.

There are several pockets throughout this planner. These will be useful for storing random things like train tickets!

The Busy B academic diary also includes a yearly planner page, lined and squared pages for notes or reminders, and a timetables page. It truly is perfect for students!

Why you should use an Academic Diary

Not only does an academic diary help keep track of your essay deadlines and exams, but it will help you to prioritise and organise your time effectively. I struggle with procrastination (don’t we all?), but I also find myself setting goals that are a bit too optimistic.

Using an academic diary to plan out my weeks makes me literally see when I’ve overbooked events, or not allowed myself enough time for required reading and study time.

It’s also great for reflecting on previous weeks, so you can figure out what kind of schedule works for you. Sometimes I don’t realise how much work I’ve done until I go through my academic diary and see that I’ve actually achieved a lot!

TDLR; I couldn’t ask for more out of a study planner, and I really recommend checking out Busy B. If you haven’t got yourself an academic diary yet, now is the time to get one before the semester starts!

If you’re not a student, they also sell lots of pretty (and useful) planners, journals and diaries. I’ve linked some of my favourites below.
