In the midst of Camden lock, there is a wonderful vegan and gluten-free bakery called Cookies & Scream. I’d heard about them on Facebook, so when I was in Camden on Saturday, I made sure to check out their cookie bar in the Market Hall of Camden Lock. I definitely wasn’t disappointed! Let me just say, there’s a reason this bakery has won multiple awards.
They have a variety of cookies, brownies, donuts, pies and other yummy bakery goods, but I went for one of their milkshakes because I didn’t want to fill up too much before meeting my friend for lunch! In hindsight, an ice-cream milkshake before lunch perhaps wasn’t the best idea, but it was SO good. I went for the cookie dough one, and it was absolutely delicious. I had to let the vanilla ice cream melt a little before I could drink it, but it was perfect for a hot day, and the cookie dough was wonderful. Best £3.50 I’ve ever spent? Probably.
Their website states that ‘every product is dairy, egg, wheat and gluten free. All bakes are low fat, low cholesterol and made with unrefined sugars’, and as I’m a vegan myself, I couldn’t think of anything better than guilt-free vegan treats. I will definitely be returning to Cookies and Scream next time I’m in Camden; next time I think I’ll try out one of their brownies, or perhaps their brownie milkshake! I can’t recommend Cookies & Scream enough, even if you’re not vegan or gluten-free. Apparently they also make cookie ice-cream sandwiches, so I’ll definitely have to try one of them too… I can see myself already becoming a regular customer.

Camden is only 15 minutes from my house on the tube and I know next time I go this is going to be my first stop! My daughters dad is a vegan and he will absolutely love this place x
Oh my gosh, how I wish I lived in London! I have coeliac disease so have to eat gluten free, and there isn’t a huge amount of choice around Newcastle for sweet foods. This sounds perfect, thanks for sharing, I will have to go in next time I am in London x

This place sounds amazing and your milkshake looks mouth-watering! I love that there are so many vegan restaurants in London and next time I visit I’ll definitely go to this bakery! I actually have a friend who first discovered the vegan lifestyle at this place and who is now vegan. xx
