Dream Home Wishlist

We’re moving house! For our Master’s year, my friends and I had originally intended to stay in our current maisonette, until the agency decided to put the rent up. I had a look around Rightmove and quickly realised that for less money, we could get a bigger place with a living room and a balcony, in East London not far from where we live now, so we jumped at the chance! These past few days have been really stressful trying to sort out a holding deposit, find a fourth flatmate, and figure out how we’re going to get together a…

Giraffe World Kitchen, Spitalfields

Last Tuesday I was lucky enough to get invited down to Giraffe World Kitchen in Spitalfields, which has recently been revamped. I’ve not been to Giraffe before, so I was excited to try out their menu, especially the desserts! As you can see from my pictures, it’s a lovely and vibrant place, with a totally friendly vibe! The music was good, and the staff were wonderful. Cocktails I’m a big cocktail fan, so I enjoyed trying out a few from their menu. We enjoyed them so much that we ended up buying ourselves a couple more to have with dessert. I…

Big Moe’s Diner, Whitechapel

The other night I decided to treat my boyfriend by taking him to a restaurant we’ve been meaning to check out for a while, Big Moe’s Diner in Whitechapel. It’s just a short bus journey from where we live, right next to Aldgate East station. Oh boy, we were impressed. Big Moe’s is an amazing retro 50’s-style American diner, it’s absolutely gorgeous inside, with great food and wonderful milkshakes. I loved the decor, and of course the retro music – yay for Elvis! Big Moe’s also have an upstairs floor for parties, which would be a pretty cool venue, and…

The London Beatles Store

Hi! Long time, no blog! I’ve been a bit MIA this past month due to final year exams, but they finished a few days ago so I’m freeeeee! (…except for working 5 days a week, and starting my Master’s degree in September…) Anyway, I’ve got lots of blog posts coming up in June, and hopefully some videos too. I’ve been busy with a few concerts (got Gorillaz coming up on June 8th too!), and I went to see the Addams Family Musical recently too – Carrie Hope Fletcher was amazing! So, on Monday I went to Baker Street for my…

New Hair, New Me, with Rush Hair Enfield

New Hair, New Me, with Rush Hair Enfield On the day before I started my new job last month (at the Tower of London!), I was invited down to try the new Rush Hair salon in Enfield. It had been around 3 years since I last had a haircut, because I’ve had a lot of bad experiences in the past with hairdressers who don’t know how to deal with curly hair, but as Rush Hair are very popular and well-respected (with over 20 years of experience and lots of awards), I decided to give it a go. I met Senior Director…

Making a Terrarium at Grace & Thorn with Obby!

I made a terrarium last Tuesday! The super-cool craft workshop booking website Obby* asked if I wanted to try out a class of my choice to review, and after much deliberation, I picked out a ‘Terrarium Tuesday’ workshop at Grace & Thorn, a florist based in Hackney and Brick Lane. Obby have curated hundreds of awesome London classes, varying from cooking and mixology to arts and crafts, and even more uncommon workshops like Spoon Carving, Wax Sculpture, and an Experimental Chocolate Tasting Club. If you’re a blogger, you may be interested in one of their photography classes, such as Fashion Photography or Product Photography, and they’ve got…

The DC Super Heroes ‘Art of the Brick’ Lego Exhibition!

Last week, my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to attend the launch of Nathan Sawaya’s DC Super Heroes ‘Art of the Brick’ Lego Exhibition on the London Southbank. It was absolutely AMAZING – I took a ton of photos, filmed a vlog, and got a little tipsy on the champagne, while we had a gander at the array of awesome lego sculptures. This is certainly not a small show – it’s actually the world’s largest lego exhibition inspired by DC characters, using nearly 2 million lego bricks! As you’ll see from my pictures below, you can find all of…
