We all know those couples. They’ve travelled the world, they’ve got great cars, their house is stunning. They have everything! So, when their wedding comes around, what gift do you get for the couple who has everything?

Today, we’re taking a look at some options for wedding gifts for these especially lucky people we all know; let’s get into it!

Making Memories

They might have everything, but they haven’t done everything. Giving your new favourite spouses a gift certificate for something they can experience together as a married couple is a great gift for anyone.

You can go solo for the gift and buy them a cooking class; a gift that really gives back to you the next time they decide to host a dinner party. Or, if you wanted, you and a group of others could go in together and pay for them to have a weekend break somewhere they love. This type of gift is something that they’ll love, especially coming off the back of their honeymoon, not ready to return to the ‘real world’ yet.

If they’re adrenaline junkies, find an experience that you think will get them excited, whether they’ve done it before or not. Skydiving, for example, is a rollercoaster of an adventure that they can cherish as one of the first things they did as a married couple.

Experiences and other gifts that revolve around making memories together are really good presents for couples who have everything. They will remember the gift you gave them long after their wedding is over, and you will be a much-loved friend for it!

Jewellery for Him and Her

Although they may have jewellery already, it is typically reserved for the bride. If the couple you know has a groom (or two), you can break the mould by giving jewellery for men. Gifting special jewellery such as antique jewellery is the best way to give jewellery for him and her and have your wedding gift stand out among the crowd.

You don’t have to go down the ‘his and hers’ route if you want to avoid seeming cliché, instead opt for jewellery that has a consistent theme or gemstone. For her, a pair of stud earrings with her birthstone, perhaps? For him, cufflinks, a tie pin, or a brooch with his own birthstone?

The good thing about this gift idea is that it doesn’t matter if the couple are known lovers of jewellery or not; the luxury of an antique jewellery gift isn’t lost on anyone. Even if they don’t wear the pieces and instead choose to display them, antique jewellery in good condition is an investment that’s likely to appreciate in value over time.

What could be better than giving the couple you love their first family heirloom? Your gift could end up being passed down through generations to come!

Art

The go-to gift for anyone who has everything is often art. Its value, pure subjective beauty, and uniqueness as a gift is always appreciated, whether it’s the couple’s first piece of art or their fiftieth.

If you want to go down a more unique path using art as a gift, however, consider opting for customisation over commercial value. The whole point is that it’s a wedding gift anyway, so it doesn’t have to be something generic and anything to make it more personal is a great idea. Commissioning a piece from an artist online gives you the option to present the couple with a portrait of themselves, a beloved pet, or even something else that holds special significance to them. Maps of where they’ve met, travelled, or proposed are all great choices for something that isn’t a portrait.

Recently, there’s been a growing trend of having an artist attend the wedding to memorialise the first dance in painting form. This is definitely a phenomenal gift, but you might need to run it by your betrothed friends first, the sweetness of your idea might not be appreciated as much when you bring an extra mouth to feed completely unannounced!

Practical Treasures

Practical gifts are the kinds of things likely to be most appreciated by your friends who are already blessed with so much. They might have a stunning house and a great lifestyle, but that newest kitchen gadget has likely slipped their net.

Giving a gift that has a daily use is the type of thing that your friends will remember. You will be their best friend when you introduce them to that rice cooker, popcorn machine, or food processor that changes the way they cook.

Another great gift that has a (somewhat) practical use is a subscription to their favourite food treats or wines. A lot of online companies offer competitively priced subscriptions that you can gift to ensure your present just keeps giving. If you know exactly what your friends like, then you can save them time and money by having those goodies delivered every month for three, six, or twelve months, keeping the romance of their wedding day ever-present in their minds.

All of these gift ideas are sure to be loved by any new couple, no matter how much they already have! Think about the things you know about them and find that untapped market of gifts that you know they’ll love – whether it’s because they’ve never had it before or because they’ve had it again and again.

Which gift idea is your favourite?

All the best,

- Emily
