DIY: Making a Rose Gold Charm Bracelet

When I say I ‘made’ a bracelet, I mean I got some pliers to open a load of jump rings and fastened together some links and charms…

Jewellery Maker let me try out one of their new DIY bracelet box sets, which comes with all the bits you need to make a cute little charm bracelet (except the pliers!). I thought this would be a bit of fun and of course I had to go for the rose gold one with leaf and heart charms, it’s so grecian-looking and I study classics you know! ?

In these little boxes, each type of link and charm comes neatly packaged individually, and of course there’s a set of easy-to-follow instructions. It comes with loads of charms, so you can put as many as you like on. I kept mine quite minimal, because after a while it can get frustrating to open those tiny little jump rings, attach the charms and fix it together with pliers… I have a new-found respect for jewellery makers, and I’m grateful to my little brother and his tiny hands that helped me make the bracelet!

Overall, I’m happy with how my bracelet looks, and it didn’t take quite as long as I thought it would to make. All of these sets cost less than £10, and they’d make a great gift for somebody who likes jewellery or DIY, particularly young girls. I would have loved something like this when I was younger and had more patience!
